Hi, I’m Ellen. Like many families, mine experienced an unexpected loss that changed the way I think about financial preparedness. Then I realized that preparing for life’s uncertainties isn’t about fear it’s about protecting the people we love. Today, my mission is to help other families prepare before a crisis happens, not after.
My Story
Nothing prepared our family for losing my mother. She was active, healthy for her age, and full of life. We assumed we had more time. Like many families, we avoided discussing what would happen in the event of a loss because it felt uncomfortable and emotional. That experience changed how I see everything. It taught me that avoiding the conversation doesn’t prevent the crisis, it only makes it harder when it happens.
That experience taught me that preparing isn’t about expecting the worst, it’s about making sure the people you love are protected when life doesn’t go according to plan. Today, that’s why I created the Prevent A Crisis™ Family Preparedness Initiative.
